Thousands of chipmunks carrying potentially fatal diseases have been spreading west across Europe and have reached Paris. In the woods around northern Paris, there are estimated to be more than 100,000.The chipmunks are not shy and are very approachable and look very sweet and cuddly.
French experts warn that the animals, which can carry rabies and ticks causing Lyme disease, could soon reach Calais and sneak aboard vehicles and vessels heading to Britain.
